The showroom displays a digital control post, a technological setup necessary for creating a digital interactive performance. By closely looking, the seemingly workshop reveals itself as an orchestrated room, a performative space that „speaks“. The room embodies the specificity of kondition pluriel’s artistic practice and at the same time presents itself as a meta-staging of this practice and offers to the spectator an insight into performative processes.

The work is staged in a way that suggests that the space was suddenly abandoned. The scenario includes tables, chairs, computers, different interfaces, LCD screens, video control monitors, projectors, cameras, tripod, a sound system, lamps and cables. Certain screens show performer whose movement sequences are connected in a continuous feedback loop, directing and manipulating interactive image and audio environments, visible on other screens. The monitors show different types of graphics, allowing the visualization of data from sensors (live dsp: digital signal processing). The work brings together all the elements that could constitute one of kondition pluriel’s interactive performances. But the information is arranged in a fragmented way in the space, the spectator cannot have a complete view of the situation as he moves around. The visitor is called upon to adopt different perspectives and points of view in order to access the maximum content.

The work creates a situation that questions the mise en scène of media, live performance, spectacle, installation and exhibition. A performative room is put in place that invites the passer-by to look and to stop himself, thus creating a place of freedom.
