Al Bird Gore - ONE POTATO, TWO POTATO

Note to ONE POTATO, TWO POTATO

In early 1981, an Austrian conceptual artist and Punk Rock musician '???' (his name remains unknown) recorded the song 'One Potato, Two Potato' and hired some dancers for the video shoot. He taped the footage he needed for his film in his own Viennese flat, using what was at the time, a professional video camera. After that he dubbed the song onto a VHS-cassette and edited the film using an analogue video editing system. As the myth goes, '???' went crazy during the shooting of his film. He killed all the actors in front of the camera - using small outtakes of those murders for the finished version. After that, he hung himself, having recorded this final last stunt as the last scene of his film.

ONE POTATO, TWO POTATO was considered lost forever. However, in December 2008 the original (?) videotape suddenly surfaced on American eBay and was sold to a private Austrian collector for USD 899.
