[...] The second work based on this system, the alarm clock, is a given, harmonised sound installation, which employs a gearing system used for time measurement. The focus is on auditive comprehension. Not all of the gearwheels in the alarm drive are fitted with a sound pick-up. Instead, and in spite of the given composition, I selected what for me were the most interesting gearwheels.

Jan Perschy is currently involved with sound generating systems and motorcycles. He has been a student in the Digital Art Department of the Vienna University of Applied Arts since 2006. Since 2007, he has participated in several exhibitions and performances such as the Mobile Music Workshop 08 in Vienna and the Guthman Musical Instrument Competition 09 in Atlanta, USA.
