Artificial Life (AL) as a creative medium offers an opportunity to explore never-before-seen complex forms and processes within virtual environments. The talk will introduce key ideas in AL through artworks by a number of notable practitioners in the field and present the artist’s own methodology through software experiments and aesthetic explorations.
Lior Ben-Gai is a computational designer and lecturer. He develops custom interactive software for installations, live performances and web applications. Currently a PhD Student at Goldsmiths, University of London; his thesis project involves interactive explorations of emergent forms and processes in digital arts and artificial life. Lior strongly believes in project based learning and enjoys thinking of things he never thought of.
