The outer appearance, a flood of over a hundred terms of optimised “I statements” relating to the global crisis. Am I more eco-conscious and climate-neutral – than the next? Despair and excuses lead to one’s own green washing … Can the paradox help to find peace in the overload of dystopian news?
Is reduction funny, naïve, or as crude as the permanently necessary suppression? Indeed, it is a liberating and obligatory option, to mirror oneself and the next observer/user with terms of everyday transgressions. The self-whitewasher is not feminine, therefore the terms are left in masculine.
Additional terms can be sent to the monitor-mirror. We curate our lives and present the best traits to the outside. The paradoxical intervention demands the contrary, the critically elevated art term about the dystopian present.
