Thomas Feuerstein’s work is characterized by transformations and processes. They form communicating receptacles and narrative networks that are realized in diverse media. Feuerstein transforms the exhibition space into a laboratory by presenting both a digital and a biological organism in parallel. While the mycelium of a virtual fungus eats its way through the internet and decomposes images like damp leaves, myxomycetes (slime moulds) grow in a glass sculpture and create a plasmodium in the form of a giant cell.

Biografie: Thomas Feuerstein, born 1968, lives in Vienna.
