Already in the mid-1980s, parallel to the initial cautious introduction of “new media” in the visual arts, Uwe Bressnik began interweaving creative processes of digital media with those of conventional artistic practices such as painting, (print) graphics, objects, and installation.

bsRGB bundles some essential experiences and achievements of his “quasi-digital” image inventions and media bastards: bressnik´s RedYellowBlue colour space is the interweaving of the “digital” RGB color space (red green blue, additive color mixing) with divers theories of primary-colors from analog painting (red yellow blue; subtractive and optical color mixing) to create a site-specific spatial installation that integrates the viewer‘s gaze and movement into it’s artistic process.

Uwe Bressnik studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and pursues a transmedial approach. He aims for a new interpretation and recontextualisation of the visual genres of graphics, painting, and sculpture by integrating adjacent cultural fields, such as new media, music, or sports, and is also active as an improv musician.
